Where 9" sits on the EN scale
EN ISO 21420 sizes are one inch of circumference apart, so a 9-inch hand is exactly size 9: the table’s 229 mm reference with a typical length of 192 mm.
Size 9 is L on unisex lines and XL on women’s lines, which are cut a letter smaller for the same hand.
9" × 25.4 = 229 mm round flat width ≈ 229 ÷ 2.42 = 94 mm (men)
Golf: the length decides Cadet
On FootJoy’s men’s chart a 9" circumference belongs to XL (8.75–9.25"). With a typical 192 mm hand the fit is Cadet XL; with fingers about 8 mm shorter it becomes Cadet XL, FootJoy’s rule for a finger size below the palm size.
Sport, ride and winter
Goalkeeper gloves add an inch: 9" rounds to 9 and becomes size 10 (Reusch’s half-size chart: 9). Alpinestars’ men’s chart puts 22.9 cm at L, on the edge of a band: try both. Hestra winter gloves are a 9 bare, 9 over a 1 mm liner.
For boxing, 9" falls in Rival’s 18 oz hand band (185–up lb), but glove weight is chosen by bodyweight and use first; the hand only says how the cuff fits.
One half size down, 8.5" is EN 8 and goalie 10. One up, 9.5" is EN 9 and goalie 11.
