Where 7" sits on the EN scale
EN ISO 21420 sizes are one inch of circumference apart, so a 7-inch hand is exactly size 7: the table’s 178 mm reference with a typical length of 171 mm.
Size 7 is S on unisex lines and M on women’s lines, which are cut a letter smaller for the same hand.
7" × 25.4 = 178 mm round flat width ≈ 178 ÷ 2.42 = 73 mm (men)
Sport, ride and winter
Goalkeeper gloves add an inch: 7" rounds to 7 and becomes size 8 (Reusch’s half-size chart: 7). Alpinestars’ men’s chart puts 17.8 cm at S, on the edge of a band: try both. Hestra winter gloves are a 7 bare, 7 over a 1 mm liner.
For boxing, 7" falls in Rival’s 14 oz hand band (120–150 lb), but glove weight is chosen by bodyweight and use first; the hand only says how the cuff fits.
One half size down, 6.5" is EN 7 and goalie 8. One up, 7.5" is EN 7 and goalie 9.
